Larger than life with dramatic poses to match, these economics and math tutors could easily be mistaken as super stars, except pop idols don't get such prime advertising space. While cram schools are prolific throughout East Asia, Hong Kong has taken the culture to new levels with flashy promotion and cutthroat competition. These tutorial centers and celebrity tutors can really be considered a phenomenon unique to Hong Kong, and they serve as the focus of the hilarious i-Cable TV sitcom Tutor Queen.

Offering a refreshing alternative to TVB and ATV dramas, i-Cable's Tutor Queen stars Eric Kot and Candice Yu as Morris and Pion, a husband and wife team with a very successful tutorial center and a rather unsuccessful marriage. After a nasty fallout, Morris sets up a new tutorial center and recruits the biggest names in the field, portrayed by a cast that includes Michelle Yip, Roy Cheung, Monie Tung, and Ellen Chan. Plentiful laughs await as the battle between the tutorial centers begin.
