Taiwan's greatest pop culture phenomenon of 2007 is undoubtedly One Million Star (a.k.a. Super Star Avenue). CTV's singing contest program, similar in format to American Idol and Super Girl, dominated television ratings during its record run from January to July 2007, and quickly became the hottest entertainment topic in Taiwan. Hosted by popular entertainer Matilda Tao, the show started from a preliminary round of 100, and through months of singing challenges and elimination rounds, emerged with the top winner. The regular panel of judges includes singers Phil Chang, Kay Huang, and Terry Lin, producers Yuen Wei Ren and Wang Wei Zhong, and image consultant Roger. The show also attracted many celebrity guest judges and performers, like Gary Chaw, S.H.E., Nicholas Teo, Kan Kan, Z-Chen Cheung, and David Huang. Even before the show's conclusion, the final ten contestants, dubbed the Million Star Gang, had become huge stars throughout Taiwan, with a bestselling group album in the bag.

This One Million Star - Best of Season One (Part 2) release captures the highlights of the show.
