After the success of 2006's Ribbon no Kishi, J-pop idols Morning Musume and theater group Takarazuka Revue Company collaborate again in 2008 for Cinderella the Musical, directed by veteran Sakai Sumio. Running for 33 shows in August 2008, the musical stars Morning Musume leader Takahashi Ai as Cinderella opposite Niigaki Risa gender-bending as Prince Charming. The other members of Morning Musume plus Takarazuka's own stars Aika Mire, Asaji Saki, Ebira Kaoru, and Ko Akemi take supporting roles in this vibrant musical swirling with bright songs, flamboyant dresses, and colorful hair. This DVD release records the August 20, 2008 performance at Shinjuku Koma Theater in Tokyo.
