Based on a story by Edogawa Rampo, Japan's most legendary horror author, Blind Beast (a.k.a. Moju) is the 42nd film from legendary Japanese New Wave director Masumura Yasuzo. Far ahead of its time, Blind Beast understandably caused quite a stir at the time of its release in 1969 due to its sexual content. With its unforgettable images, daring performances, and audacious depictions of sadomasochistic sex, Blind Beast is demented, chilling, bizarre, and groundbreaking. Delving deep into the human mind and body, the film is a hugely influential title in Japanese cinema, paving the way for later controversial works such as Oshima Nagisa's erotic classic In the Realm of the Senses.

A blind twisted sculptor Michio (Funakoshi Eiji, All Mixed Up) and his mother (Sengoku Noriko) kidnap young, beautiful model Aki (Midori Mako) and trap her in a secluded farmhouse. There, she is forced to become a model for Michio so he can create the perfect body sculpture. Over time, Aki also begins to grow obsessed with the sculptures and its sculptor, journeying into a dangerous world of desperate emotions and carnal desires.
